We've read Erich Fromm's "The Art of Loving" in ou We've read Erich Fromm's "The Art of Loving" in our August Book Club over on Patreon. I know this book has a wide international fanbase but, unfortunately, I really didn’t like it. It read like a self-help book with a social critique and from a psychodynamic stand point, I didn't get anything useful out of it. Parallel to this I was reading Jessica Benjamin's "Bonds of Love" (still not done) and found it much more rich, stimulating, and giving me an interesting insight into the domination-submission aspects of love.
